At 18/20 weeks you will have an appointment with a fetal medicine specialist if you choose to have an ultrasound scan to check the physical development of the baby and detect structural anomalies. If your afterbirth (placenta) is found to be covering the neck of your womb (cervix) you will be offered another scan at 32-34 weeks.
If an abnormality is detected the Fetal Medicine Specialist and Miss Mellon, will discuss in full to support you however needed.
