You will be reviewed weekly from 36 weeks onwards. During these appointments we will carry out a full antenatal check including blood pressure, urine check and assessing the health of your baby with an ultrasound scan. We will check the position of baby and discuss options to turn the baby if the bottom is first (breech position). You will be screened for Group B Strep with a swab. We will discuss perineal massage if appropriate. We will discuss what happens if your pregnancy is prolonged and options for induction. You will be offered a membrane sweep (where the doctor will aim to separate the membranes from around the neck of your womb (cervix). This releases hormone called prostaglandins, which may help start labour). You will be offered date for induction of labour, after careful consideration of the pros and cons.
