The EP e-care delivery system is a neat and simple online tool which allows Health Professionals – including GPs, Midwives, Obstetricians, Paediatricians and Health Visitors – to select and send relevant videos and articles direct to patients to watch on their mobile phones or at home.
The online articles and videos include:
*For a detailed list, please see at the bottom of this page.
The EP articles and lessons were made by a team formerly from the BBC Science Department, following expert advice from:
Professor Robert Winston
UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative (the pregnancy and baby content)
The St John Ambulance (the infant and child first aid content)
The Child Accident Prevention Trust (the safety content)
The National Literary Trust
The Meningitis Research Trust
Mental Health Specialists
and many more.
The original materials were also developed in association with members of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
Any individual Health Professional, or groups (hospitals, local authority, children’s centre etc) can subscribe to the online e-care service:

The Co-Founders of Essential Parent (EP) are Dr Rebecca Chicot, a Mother-Baby Attachment Expert from Cambridge University, and Diana Hill, a former documentary director from the BBC Science Department.
EP has created a world-class, award-winning selection of online video and written articles covering all the subjects listed above.
Each video and article is presented by medical experts from that field – so, for example, Professor Robert Winston, one of the founding fathers of IVF presents the Conception Course; the St John Ambulance presents the videos and articles on Baby First Aid; and a Breastfeeding Expert and Educator from UNICEF UK Baby Friendly presents the Breastfeeding articles and videos – and so on.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health use the content to help train junior paediatricians around the world.
UNICEF UK Baby Friendly have approved all our breastfeeding and bottle feeding articles and videos.
Over 100 maternity hospitals in the UK show EP content on their wards.
EP is passionate about helping new parents and babies. We do a great deal of charity work including:
Providing all the visual resources for UK NCT teachers;
Providing DVDs of our baby care content to Mother & Baby units in UK prisons;
Providing DVDs for all the Barnardo’s Children’s Centres in the UK;
and much more.
